Grove City Mayor Aims for April 11, 2007 - Grove City Mayor Cheryl L. Grossman has announced her intention to seek the Ohio House of Representatives seat for the 23rd District. State Representative Larry Wolpert who will be term limited in 2008 presently holds the seat. Mayor Grossman began her public service in 1994 when she was elected to Grove City Council and subsequently elected as mayor in 1996. She is completing her third term as “From my first year on City Council to this last year in the Mayor’s Office, I have always placed enhanced amenities for all citizens at the top of my priorities,” Grossman said. “ Mayor Grossman serves on the Ohio Retirement Study Council, is a Board Member of the Central Ohio YMCA, a member of the Ohio Public Works Integrating Committee, an Executive Board Member of the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency, a Board Member of the South-Western Education Foundation, and a Founding Member of the Grove City Rotary Club. She also serves on the Community and Economic Development Committee for the National League of Cities, is a Board Member and Past President of the Central Ohio Municipal Council, is a Board Member of the Franklin County Housing Advisory Board, and was recently appointed to the Franklin County Community Action Agency. She is the recipient of the Columbus Board of Realtors Citizen of the Year Award, the Boy Scouts Simon Kenton Council Award, and The American Cancer Society Relay for Life Honoree and the South-Western City Schools Apple Award. Cheryl and her husband Ron have been married for 36 years. Her family includes son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Emily Grossman, and son, Joshua Grossman.
