Cheryl L. Grossman, a life-long resident of Grove City, began her career in local politics as Grove City Council President and Council Member-At-Large 1994 – 1995, following a stint as a Grove City Planning Commission member.  At the conclusion of her Council term, she was elected to serve as Mayor, a position she assumed January 2, 1996.

Initiatives include:

  • Overseeing the development of the 110-acre Fryer Park, including the All Children Playground
  • 2 million square foot Parkway Retail Centre
  • 638 Acre Pinnacle Golf Course Planned Community-Home of 2007 BIA Parade of Homes
  • Addition of The Big Splash Family Aquatic Center, Grove City’s first public swimming pool
  • Expansion of the Volunteer Involvement Program (V.I.P.), which offers community service options to teens
  • YMCA partnership with Grove City-Capital Campaign Co-Chair
  • Town Center Revitalization
  • 300 Percent Increase in revenues in past ten years
  • Reduction of Inside Millage 11 of the past 15 years
  • Addition of Grove City Skate Park
  • National CALEA Accreditation of Grove City Police Department, less than 7 percent qualify in USA
  • National Accreditation by NRPA of Grove City Parks and Recreation Department, 5th in Ohio
  • Town Center Matching Grant Program for Town Center businesses
  • Addition of several new medical facilities and practices in city

Mayor Grossman and her husband, Ron, have two sons, Justin and Joshua.
